  1. I have so many questions I'd love to ask. Your project seems to have been done in the "real world." Unlike many others I have seen on the web which seem to have the advantage of working out of large body shops or mechanic's garages. Yours appears to take place in your own home and adapting to a work/life/Isetta balance.
My cars are many years dormant. I am very anxious to shake off the dust and rust and get them running. I don't have any illusions of the incredible restoration that you have accomplished but getting them on the road and safe to drive would be my goal.
Congratulations on what you have achieved.

  2. Sorry for such a late reply Steve.... I love restoring vintage scooters and little cars. I like to keep projects small.
I do all my work out of my home and my fathers home. The best advantage to a home restoration shop is your
always right there with your family and not somewhere way across town missing out on life, as we all know how time consuming restoration work is.
This little Isetta is the most fun I have ever had restoring anything really . I recommend picking one up.
Parts availability on these is really good. -Austin

  3. Thanks for taking the time to discuss that, I really feel strongly about it and love learning more on that topic. If achievable, as you gain competence, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is highly helpful for me.

  5. OMG, I just found your blog.
I have been walking by and looking at your VW' for years. I didn't realize you had started on BMW's also. I'll soon to start work on my 57 Isetta. We should talk sometime. Maybe I'll just knock on your door when I am walking by with the dogs. There is going to be a lot of Isettas in Mason City per capita.

I haven't posted to this blog in a year.. Probably should start updating it!
The green 56 bubble here is close to done and is running and driving. We are currently
working on the red 56 convertible. Hopefully ill have it painted by the end of this summer
and ready for assembly. We now have 4 1956 bubble Isettas. One standard, one convertible, and two red/white Zmolds. Stop by anytime. -Austin
